Okay Round 3…

The entries were submitted and I have to be honest—the creativity generated from music was astounding!

Round of applause to the participants! I was blown away!

Words Monsters Me with her rendition of The Cure’s, ‘Just Like Heaven‘, is a very personal piece dedicated to her brother. Live Like The Sun speaks so much of mortality. I really loved this and, if you haven’t, you should read it. A little word of advice—it’s okay to get teary-eyed…though I don’t admit I did 😉

Arushi’s, Without You was inspired by Chord Overstreet’s, ‘Hold On‘ was another beautiful take on the song.

The line, ‘-cause waiting is the card that I drew‘…wow! Even on a good day, I don’t think I could’ve ended a poem on that note.

And that leaves the chosen poem for Round 3 of JOP’s Poetry Event written by Akanksha (My Bubble) called,

“Blood In My Vein”

I loved how she took a spin to the song, ‘Memories’ by Maroon 5. Sometimes defying experience is what makes us who we are. The memories will always be there but we can’t help but question what we would’ve done differently or if we made the right choice. This pushed my thinking a little too much—something I love about reading poetry, thankfully I had a snack nearby 😁 Congratulations to My Bubble for claiming Round 3!

I will be “Re-blogging” her poem, don’t forget to congratulate her!

With Poetry Month coming to end, let’s finish strong with the last round of JOP’s Poetry Event! Are you ready?!

Here’s our final theme:

Your last poem

If you were to write your last poem, what would you leave behind? There are no creative restrictions. The only thing I ask is, “Give it everything you have!”

Don’t forget to Follow Jar of Poetry (if you haven’t), post the graphic somewhere on your post, only 1 entry for the week, and the deadline will be by the end of Saturday (EST). The winner will be announced the following day, Sunday at 10 am (EST) in the Personal Audio Entry!

Best of luck to you!
