Ending NaPoWriMo

With April coming to an end, please allow me the honor of having you join me in this personal audio entry. Let’s end this month together…with a bang!

Hi, I’m John-Anthony and this is Jar of Poetry.

As we bid farewell to our beloved ‘Poetry Month’, I’d like to take a moment and thank everyone who contributed to NaPoWriMo 2020whether you’re following this blog or not.

I would also like to thank all the participants in JOP’s First Poetry Event for taking the time to submit their work. Hopefully, you had a great time, connected with other writers, and had a chance to try some different ideas for your poetry repertoire. From the middle—yes, middle part of my heart, “Thank you” for making this poetry month memorable for me.

Okay, that’s enough of that. Let’s get to the entry!

For JOP’s last round, the theme was to write your “Last Poem”. What did you want the world to remember from your poetry? Well, the entries are in and now, it’s time to announce who walks away with Round 4.

Drum roll please!”

Congratulations to…

“A special mention to Words Monsters Me for sharing her poem, Wellspring which was published in a chapbook. I will be “Re-Blogging” this for you to read and to indulge in her work.”

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you JOP’s winners of Round 4! (I got excited when I was announcing  this… LOL) Let’s give them a hand!

Be expecting an email from jarofpoetry@gmail.com or you can email me with your decision. The choice is yours on what you would like to do with your prize! Again, congratulations everyone!

Since I have you here, I’ll be updating the site throughout the week…again. I like to change things up a bit. There will be new content for you to take a peek at. So, make sure to stop by and check it out when you have time. I’m also going to be taking a little break to get caught back up on some projects that I need to follow up on. So, if I don’t post anything next Sunday, that’s what I’m doing.

And that ladies and gents does it for JOP’s First Poetry Event and this entry!

Thank you so much for hanging out with me today!

Man…I had a lot of fun this month, hopefully you did too. I honestly can’t tell you how honored I am to be a part of the WP Poetry Community with people like you! It’s a pleasure sharing this platform with all of you!

So, if you like this and you haven’t done so yet, consider “Following”. Trust me, you’ll be in good company. And if you are following, Thank You for being a part of my life as we continue our writing ventures together.

I’m John-Anthony and this is OUR Jar of Poetry.

Take care and have a great week!

The song, “Please don’t go” played in my head when I saw this!

Between Us

Whatever it is you’re thinking—
just count me in.
That smirk says it all,
so don’t even try to deny it.
Yes, I already know.
I am your best friend after all.

What is it this time?
Better yet,
Are we going to get caught?
I should know better
but it’s worth the thought.
A mistaken friendship
for a budding relationship
makes us laugh at the
thought of it.

I’m your partner in crime
and you’re my friend for life.
We’ll just keep that between us,
okay?
