Best of Me

*Note: “Impossible? Hold my sanity, it’s going to get really interesting.”

I believe in you writer…let’s see what you got!

I have a dream (I have a dream)
That’s all I need (That’s all I need)
I’ll make it happen with some work and belief
Know what I want (Know what I want)
So I’ll take it on (I’ll take it on)
I’ve made mistakes but mistakes make you strong

Let’s break it down for a minute
I want the crown, I’m gon get it
You hear me loud, man, I’m winning
Yeah, Charley Sheen would be grinning
These ladies know that I’m sinning
And this is just the beginning
I’m closing in the ninth inning
There ain’t no point in resisting

Livin’ life like a dream
Live it right that’s the theme
Every night got a team
Mobbing tight to the scene
Out on stage, hear ’em scream
Okay, this is the dream
And I prayed as a teen
One day it’d be me
If I want it then I get it
Head down, don’t regret it
Push myself to the limit
If I play it, then I win it
I’m just saying, I’m just living
For today, for a minute
I don’t stay, I just visit
Have no shame, I’ll admit it, yeah

They lookin’ right at me
To see if I succeed
To see if I believe
They looking up to me

They want the best of me now
Best of me now
Best of me now
Best of me
They want the best of me now
Best of me now
Best of me now
Best of me
They want the best of me now
Best of me now
Best of me now
Best of me

And I won’t rest in peace now
Rest in peace now
Rest in peace now
Rest in peace now

They want it now
They want it now
They want it now
They want it now
They want it now
They want it now
Oh damn, if they want it now, they got it now

I swear to god, man, I’ma make it soon
Silence all the haters as they see us making moves
I do what I want, so I got nothing to prove
Stayin’ motivated teaching others what to do

I’m staying focused
My mind is open
They start to notice
That I’m in motion
There is no potion
You’re not just chosen
It takes devotion
To stay composed, man

Never stop, never stall
There ain’t no time to fall
Try to live, get it all
You got one life to ball
Thinking big, never small
‘Cause you gotta want it all
When you finally get that call
You get ready take it all

I don’t need a handout
I already standout
Startin’ to advance now
Ready to expand now
You don’t have a chance now
‘Cause we’re in demand now
Make it by the grand now
Feelin’ in command now

They lookin’ right at me
To see if I succeed
To see if I believe
They looking up to me

They want the best of me now
Best of me now
Best of me now
Best of me
They want the best of me now
Best of me now
Best of me now
Best of me
They want the best of me now
Best of me now
Best of me now
Best of me

And I won’t rest in peace now
Rest in peace now
Rest in peace now
Rest in peace now

They want it now
They want it now
They want it now
They want it now
They want it now
They want it now
Oh damn, if they want it now, they got it now

Ending NaPoWriMo

With April coming to an end, please allow me the honor of having you join me in this personal audio entry. Let’s end this month together…with a bang!

Hi, I’m John-Anthony and this is Jar of Poetry.

As we bid farewell to our beloved ‘Poetry Month’, I’d like to take a moment and thank everyone who contributed to NaPoWriMo 2020whether you’re following this blog or not.

I would also like to thank all the participants in JOP’s First Poetry Event for taking the time to submit their work. Hopefully, you had a great time, connected with other writers, and had a chance to try some different ideas for your poetry repertoire. From the middle—yes, middle part of my heart, “Thank you” for making this poetry month memorable for me.

Okay, that’s enough of that. Let’s get to the entry!

For JOP’s last round, the theme was to write your “Last Poem”. What did you want the world to remember from your poetry? Well, the entries are in and now, it’s time to announce who walks away with Round 4.

Drum roll please!”

Congratulations to…

“A special mention to Words Monsters Me for sharing her poem, Wellspring which was published in a chapbook. I will be “Re-Blogging” this for you to read and to indulge in her work.”

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you JOP’s winners of Round 4! (I got excited when I was announcing  this… LOL) Let’s give them a hand!

Be expecting an email from jarofpoetry@gmail.com or you can email me with your decision. The choice is yours on what you would like to do with your prize! Again, congratulations everyone!

Since I have you here, I’ll be updating the site throughout the week…again. I like to change things up a bit. There will be new content for you to take a peek at. So, make sure to stop by and check it out when you have time. I’m also going to be taking a little break to get caught back up on some projects that I need to follow up on. So, if I don’t post anything next Sunday, that’s what I’m doing.

And that ladies and gents does it for JOP’s First Poetry Event and this entry!

Thank you so much for hanging out with me today!

Man…I had a lot of fun this month, hopefully you did too. I honestly can’t tell you how honored I am to be a part of the WP Poetry Community with people like you! It’s a pleasure sharing this platform with all of you!

So, if you like this and you haven’t done so yet, consider “Following”. Trust me, you’ll be in good company. And if you are following, Thank You for being a part of my life as we continue our writing ventures together.

I’m John-Anthony and this is OUR Jar of Poetry.

Take care and have a great week!

Jar of Poetry News

Hello!

I hope this finds you doing well and that you’re hanging in there.

First, sending some JOP vibes to Archangel White Wolf who recently had his work copied and distributed without the Wolf’s knowledge or consent.

With a surge of new writers looking for something to do with their free time, please keep a watchful eye for Copyright Infringement. A simple credit (depending on the original creator) or ‘Reblog‘ will be greatly appreciated rather than falsely claiming the work as their own.

I support original creators like you and the White Wolf

As a reminder, especially those new to Jar of Poetry, I narrate and produce audiobooks. If you would like a copy (we’ll call them PROMOS) and you’re either in the US or UK, please let me know. You can find the titles on Amazon, Audible, and iTunes. Or I can send you a link to the portfolio I have them saved in.

And finally, my email is always open if you want to chat (refer toJust a Reminderpost).

Right now, I am currently working on one audiobook. So, I’ll be spending more time on this site than my other one.

You know I love procrastinating…so it won’t be a bother 😉

Take care!
